July has arrived!
Time to break out your Red, White, & Blue everything to celebrate July in true American style! And sangria is no exception.
We have Sharon at Certified Pastry Aficionado to thank for extending the Red, White, & Blue theme to our July Sangria of the Month. Sharon is an accountant by day (CPA, get it?!) and baker by night, which basically makes her our hero.
And she makes wine milkshakes! I’m not even kidding.
But we’ll save the wine milkshakes for later and focus on the sangria today. All you need to make this patriotic sangria is:
- sugar
- brandy
- lemon-lime soda
- strawberries
- blueberries
- white wine
Like a good grown-up, Sharon uses a dry white to keep the sangria from getting too sweet. I, on the other hand, always use the sweetest wine I can find and sometimes double the recipe’s sugar. I’m sure you’ll find your happy balance 😉
If you’ve got a 4th of July brunch, BBQ, pool party, beach party, or fireworks viewing, take a pitcher of this Red, White, & Blue Sangria with you. Everyone will thank you!
Head over to certifiedpastryaficionado.com to get the complete recipe and say thanks to Sharon!
